Maintaining Settings
There are a few ways in which settings may be stored (packaged up) so that they are included with a fresh install or upgrade.
Jubilant is a "copy installer". All processes and settings are maintained in files that are easily copied around.
The two main ways of maintaining settings are found below. The easiest and most commonly used method is via Settings Snapshot.
Manual File Copying
It is possible to copy in the pre-configured settings files over those found in the installer. As the installer simply copies the files during install, the customised settings are also copied in.
There are also a few special folders that can be used to store settings.
Read more about this method in the Manual File Copying section.
Settings Snapshots
A settings snapshot is a bundle (zip) of the required settings files in a specific folder format. This settings snapshot can be created manually, but more commonly the snapshot is generated from an existing install.
